There is a PROMISE for that

Growing up, my biological father was around but not there. We lived in the same city but it always felt like we were worlds apart. Things went from him being somewhat involved in my life to not at all. It was normal for my father to promise me he would pick me up ,to spend time, only for me to realize that was a promise he could never seem to keep. I can remember countless times after, where it was always the same setup: he would call my mother and make the promise that he would pick me up and take me somewhere, I would excitedly wait outside all dressed up, time passed and it became later and later, mom would call me inside and apologize on his behalf, and I finally realized he is not coming. I soon made the connection that he was never coming. This tough lesson manifested into learning not to trust people when they make promises ,because they often lead to disappointment.

A promise is defined as declaration or assurance that one will do a particular thing or that a particular thing will happen.Promises are sacred vows that one makes to show commitment and intention. I didn’t trust promises. In fact, when people often said the word “promise” I often shut down and a part of me replayed the entire scene  of the millions of broken promises I have experienced. What I had to learn later, was there is a difference between my biological fathers promise and my Heavenly fathers promise! One of those would always come back to me void  but the other always came through!!! One was inconsistent and the other was consistent. One was rooted in truth and good intention and the other was not. One left me feeling insecure and unsure and the other made me feel safe and certain.

Growing in Christ taught me that there are thousands of promises from God in the Bible. With everything and anything we encounter, there is a promise for it.If you are feeling sick, there is promise for that. If you are feeling discouraged, there is a promise for that. If you are feeling suicidal, there is promise for that. If you are feeling sad, angry or upset, there is a promise for that. If you are feeling like you have no purpose, there is a promise for that. If you are feeling unworthy, there is a promise for that.

Here are 10 promises of God to encourage you right now:

1. God promises to strengthen you. (Ephesians 3:14-16 ESV)

2. God promises to give you rest. (Matthew 11:28-30 NLT)

3. God promises to take care of all your needs. Philippians (4:19 NLT)

4. . God promises to answer your prayers. Matthew 7:7 ESV)

I am not sure of what your circumstance is , but God sent me to tell you that ALL of his promises will be fulfilled. God is not like those who have let us down and lied to us and on us. What God has said, He will ensure it comes to pass. The enemy wants you to believe everything about your current situation is the best that it gets but the devil is a LIAR! The best is yet to come according to God’s promise. Refer to these promises in your next moment of need.
